The Eaton Area Joint Planning Commission is an intergovernmental planning agency established pursuant to the Michigan Joint Municipal Planning Act by agreement among seven participating townships within Eaton County, Michigan.

Planning for Eaton’s Future
The Eaton Area Joint Planning Commission reviews land use and development proposals for participating communities, applying adopted plans and ordinances to guide safe, orderly growth.
Residential Development
Excavation, construction, erection, addition, structural alteration, relocation, or use of any building, structure, or land regulated by this Ordinance shall not be commenced or undertaken until a Development Permit has been obtained from the Zoning Administrator. Please download the application here.
Permits may be submitted digitally to: zoning@eatonareajpcmi.gov or in person on Tuesdays between 9 AM and 5 PM.
